Lesson 1.2

What forms of yoga training are there?

What to do? Cost? How to study for free? How to study as a yoga teacher?

What forms of education are there?

Friends, there are three forms of training for Russian-speaking users:

  • First Form - Free. 0 rubles. Online training as a Student Free Listener. Time is unlimited. Over 40 on-line theoretical and practical courses. As a Student Free Listener, you can study for as long as you like. The only thing that is required of you is to take tests in each course so that you will be admitted to the following courses. This is learning for yourself and it's free.

  • Second Form - Fee. 5950 rubles / month. Training for Certified Teacher. Time 48 months. Includes 16 practical and theoretical lessons per month live or online. Two exams and two seminars a year live. Plus 4 consultations per month live or online. Full-time / part-time student. This is a Full-time / Part-time study for an additional profession of a yoga teacher without interruption from the main place of work / study.

  • Upon completion, you will be able to teach yoga in the hall and individually, be able to read lectures. This form implies that you will pass 9 qualifying exams within 208 weeks for a European certificate. For this you will study in a special group. The average workload of 4-6 classes in the evening and on weekends. Twice a year passing exams. After 130 weeks you can begin your teaching.

  • It's not free. The cost of 5950 rubles per month. For some categories of students, a scholarship from sponsors is possible, which partially covers tuition fees.

  • Third Form - Fee. 7550 rub / month. Training at the Bachelor Open Yoga University.
Time 48 months. Includes 16 practical and theoretical lessons per month live or online. Two exams and two seminars a year live. Also 4 classes of spoken English per month. Plus 4 consultations per month live or online.

  • Since the Open Yoga University (www.openyogauniversity.com) and the European Certification Center mutually recognize each other’s programs, if you pass the internal English exam, you will receive a Bachelor's degree from the University (Bachelor Degree, Open Yoga University, www.openyogauniversity.com ).

  • That is, here you will study as an Full-time / Part-time Student. This is a Bachelor’s degree in Yoga and related specialties from Open Yoga University. (Bachelor Degree, Open Yoga University, www.openyogauniversity.com). This training is similar in structure, terms, organization and cost as in the training courses for certified yoga teachers in Russian and English. The difference is that the student must additionally complete intensive English courses for yoga from scratch at Open Yoga University. Their cost is 1600 rubles per month.

  • Either the student must independently pass and submit the result of the TOEFL or IELTS exams.

  • Thus, the total cost of training for a bachelor can be from 7550 rubles / month. That is 5950 rubles / month. plus 1600 rubles / month.

Friends, for the second and third forms there are also “Paid Preparatory Courses for Admission to Yoga Teachers' Courses”. The cost of 1000 rubles / month. Course duration - from 1 to 9 months. Read more there...

Friends, it is important! For reasons beyond our control, cost may increase. Although this is not always possible, but we, and the sponsors of Open Yoga from former graduates, try to do everything possible so that the increase is minimal, so that students can complete their education at the old prices. While we managed to do it.

How do you decide on the form of training?

Friends, to choose the form of education, you must honestly answer the following questions:

Question 1. Do you want to study yoga here by yourself, only for yourself?

If yes, then become a Student Free Listener.

There are no requirements for you. This form of education is free. This process can continue indefinitely. You can have any good motivation for such studies.

Question 2. Do you want to study yoga not only for yourself, but also to get a certificate and teach it to others? Do you need an additional profession?

If yes, then start studying as a Certified Teacher and pass 9 Qualification exams.

Your main motivation should not be “making money” on yoga at any cost, and not gaining the glory glory of “the teacher of life”, but the desire to make yourself and the world better through hard and dedicated work for the benefit of all living beings. At the same time, it must be remembered that if for the cause of yoga you have to learn how to earn good money by teaching yoga, you will have to learn it. If for the cause of yoga you have to become famous, then you will have to become famous. You will have to benefit people and get paid for it the way people need it, not the way you want it. This form of education is paid. The program lasts up to 208 weeks, with the opportunity to take academic leave.

Question 3. Would you like to move to another country and teach yoga in English in the future? Are you going to actively travel the world, studying and teaching yoga with English like-minded people? Do you want to promote yoga in the Academic, scientific environment, to study, translate, decipher the invaluable legacy of yoga? Do you need a University Diploma of Bachelor / Master for status or is it enough for you to be a Certified Teacher?

If yes, then your way is to get a Bachelor of Open Yoga University diploma. Without waiting for enrollment, start learning or improving your English.

The requirements are more serious. This form of education is paid. Training lasts 208 weeks, after which there is an opportunity to continue studying at the Master in Open Yoga University.

What exactly do you need to do?

Step one. Regardless of where you live, what you strive for, where you have studied before, you must first become Students Free Listeners. You begin to learn yoga for yourself, here in the courses, and it is free. You become a Student Free Listener. You consistently study all the open sections of yoga. You will get acquainted with our School of Open Yoga on the site IOYU , International Open Yoga University. www.openyogaclass.com , - these are self-study courses for everyone. Register and take Courses 000, 001, 002, 003, 004.

This will be your first entrance exam. This will take you a week. It's free. If you are learning yoga for yourself, then you can become a Student Free Listener on this site right now.

Step two. As you complete the courses 000, 001, 002, 003, 004, you decide: whether you want to study as an Full-time or Part-time Student.

So, you have decided, and for you there are two options:

А. You can become an Absentee Student of Special Groups for preparing for the qualification exams if you do not live in a country (city) where our teachers are. Duration - 208 weeks with the possibility of taking academic leave after 108 weeks.

Б. You can become an Full-time Student of Special Yoga Groups in preparation for the qualification exams, if you live in a country (city) where our teachers are.

Step three. If you also need a Bachelor's Degree, then you waste no time in learning English.

Explanation: "What does it mean to spread yoga?"

1This means that you will learn how to conduct group and individual yoga classes in English. Learn to lecture on the theory and practice of yoga. Get the knowledge of how to spread the ancient knowledge and practices of yoga in their usual activities. Learn how to make your regular job more efficient and productive, in order to free up time, energy and resources and, as a result, be able to help a lot of people.

We encourage those students who, after graduation, go to teach yoga. But no less important are the people who will popularize and promote yoga through all sorts of other ways. We really need people who create the infrastructure for the development of yoga, who open shops and yoga centers, publish printed materials and so on. In the end, we need people who could take the lessons in yoga and use in the organization of their business, make their business successful and help yoga indirectly, through sponsorship and support. The existence of this project was made possible thanks to such people, those who received yoga training with us, organized an effective successful business taking into account all the principles of yoga and found the opportunity to financially support many projects in yoga.

That is, after passing in-depth special training, you can become an instructor of yoga or work in the promotion and popularization of yoga.

Friends, if you are very limited in financial resources, but understand that yoga is your vocation, in this case there is an opportunity to study in preferential places, the number of which is limited and that exist at the expense of our sponsors. For all questions, please contact the head of the Sponsorship Board of Conformity Alexandra Tata at tata-alecsandr@mail.ru

Friends, now the same, but in more detail about the conditions and prices ...

So, all people can be divided into several groups of students. Accordingly, for each group there is its own form of education. You need to choose the most appropriate form of training. These groups are as follows:

1. Group - Students Free Listeners, learn yoga for themselves.

2. Group - Full-time / correspondence Students in preparation courses for passing nine qualifying exams for a European Yoga Teacher Certificate.

3. Group - Full-time / Correspondence Students for a Bachelor's degree (Bachelor’s degree) at the Open Yoga University.

1. Group - students Free Listeners

Who can become a Student Free Listener:

It can be all those who study yoga for themselves. Such people are not bound by any requirements and obligations. For them, all training is absolutely free. Therefore, the only thing that is required of the Students of the Free Listeners is the interest in studying yoga and the sequence in passing the Courses so that the Student Free Listener passes the Higher sections of yoga not before he studies the basic sections. He can take courses with any speed acceptable to him, and he can do this several times. If the Student Free Listener finds it necessary, possible and useful, he can attend all the seminars, classes, lectures, retreats that are held for other groups of students.

All Courses are open for Students of Free Listeners, with the exception of closed and specific Courses intended for Full-time and Distance Students, and directly related to the process of full-time and distance education and the training of teachers and yoga instructors.

In the future, Students Free Students can enroll in full-time (correspondence) courses for in-depth study and training of yoga teachers. Moreover, recruitment to the Group of Full-time (Absentee) Students is conducted only from among the Students of the Free Listeners.

Sometimes, in order to complete some Courses, it is necessary to have a secret code word, which the Student Free Listener receives as all the Preliminary Courses pass.

Thus, if you still don’t know for sure whether you want to study yoga only for yourself or want to become a teacher of yoga in the future, but are already seriously interested in yoga, then this form of study will probably be best suited for you.

Your financial expenses for training: is free

Studying time: Any

The advantages of this form of education:

  • Your absolute freedom to learn what to learn and what not.

  • Absolute free education.

  • Free course schedule.

  • You will not have to strictly fulfill all the requirements for the learning process as for full-time (correspondence) students.

The disadvantages of this form of education:

  • You will not have tough and demanding personal mentors, curators who would follow your training, help you on this path and demanded to observe discipline and achieve success in tight, tight deadlines.

  • Going through this training, you will not be able to fully communicate with like-minded people.

  • You will spend significantly more time to get closer to special sections.

  • In addition, upon completion of your training, you will not be able to teach yoga to our school to others, that is, you will not be able to become a certified teacher of our school of yoga, since for this purpose it is absolutely necessary to take some special Yoga courses. It should be remembered that studying yoga for yourself and studying yoga to teach others are different things.

  • If you are a free student, then the course curators will not be able to quickly answer all the questions you have on yoga, since our resource is limited and it is spent primarily on full-time and part-time students.

How is the process of learning from students of Free Listeners?

  • Consistently take Remote Internet Yoga Courses, take tests at the conclusion of each lesson. It is completely free.

  • Attend general classes and seminars, retreats, lectures, which we hold for all comers, if you find this possible and necessary for yourself. To do this, you need to subscribe to the newsletter and closely monitor our limited advertising.

Question:

I want to become a student free listener, what to do?

Answer:

1. You need to register on the Internet Yoga Courses website www.openyogaclass.com.

The schedule can be found at www.openyoga.ru.

2. Group - Full-time / extramural Students in courses for the preparation of the nine qualifying examinations for the European certificate of yoga teacher.

A. Full-time Students.

Group - Full-time Students of Yoga teacher training, in countries / regions where there are our teachers.

Who can become a full-time student:

Full-time Students are those who are enrolled in preparation courses for the nine qualifying exams for a European Yoga Teacher Certificate.

That is, Full-time / Correspondence Students is a group that consists of people who are already our students free students. These people in the future plan to become teachers of yoga and practically carry out yoga, namely our "Open Yoga" to other people. Therefore, to become a full-time student, you, at least, need to want to be a teacher of yoga, and also you should like our yoga school.

You should immediately understand that the training of students in teacher training courses is a serious and lengthy process. Training of Students has nothing to do with the activities of numerous “punchers of yoga teachers” in the West or with us, or, sadly, in India itself, when they prepare so-called “certified yoga teachers” for several months. Sometimes these “certified yoga teachers” begin to teach others while they themselves practice yoga for only a couple of months. From our point of view, this is unacceptable, since these inexperienced teachers discredit the whole yoga work.

You will have to pass nine qualifying exams and nine practicing yoga teachers who will take your exams must vouch for you accordingly. Living teachers of yoga, who are committed to you, and not a beautiful piece of paper, are a true indicator of your level of competence as a teacher.

If you understand that this is your way, then in order to become a Student, you will have to get acquainted with the requirements that we make for future teachers, pass some tests, have interviews, and also have a competition for admission. All this requires a known effort. But, friends, do not be afraid of our rather strict requirements. If yoga is your vocation, you will overcome everything and deal with everything, and we will always meet you where it is possible. The main thing is your perseverance and determination! Show the Will! And remember that if you wait, then the Universe waits, if you take a step, then the Universe takes a thousand steps to meet you.

We hope that in the future, for the following student enrollments, we will have the opportunity to leave the training process for the yoga teacher training courses partially free, but this depends entirely on the sponsorship and financial resources of our sponsors, and not on us.

If you are sure that the active or indirect teaching of the Open Yoga of our tradition is your way of life, then this form of education is probably the best for you.

Your financial expenses for training:

Our goal is to make these costs minimal so that students can do it, and on the other hand, we can immediately dismiss casual people without thinking about money. There are a lot of all kinds of "universities", "ashrams", whose sole purpose is to keep students who pay money at any cost.

The system is flexible. If you are very limited in funds, you will all attend at a minimum.

You will attend at least 16 training events per month, plus 4 online classes. Usually 12 special classes, 4 special pieces per month and other events. Also take special closed Internet yoga courses on the program of the university for teachers, work with personal tutors. Participate in retreats and retreats. If you have additional funds and time - you can attend to all extra classes and activities to the maximum, such as classes on rare types of yoga, learning English for yoga and others.

If you recalculate the cost for an hour of training, then this is the most profitable and effective form.

Remember, friends, that prices for reasons beyond our control can grow!

Вот ориентировочный, приблизительный расчет ваших затрат. Цены на 2017 год.

Duration: The first cycle is 108 weeks for the Certificate of Instructor. Then a break is possible. The second cycle of 100 weeks - training for the Diploma of the Teacher.

The advantages of this form of education:

  • You will receive another profession in English.

  • You will quickly learn the fundamental theory of yoga at the highest world level.

  • You are in a good rhythm and fully pass the yoga exercises through yourself and will be very clearly aware of the practice of yoga.

  • You come to the closed sections of yoga.

  • You will learn how to professionally teach yoga in group classes for the most diverse contingents of people: from retirees to businessmen.

  • You will also learn how to teach yoga in other languages for foreigners, if you have the appropriate specialization in training.

  • You will also learn how to lecture on yoga, if you also have the appropriate specialization in teaching with us.

  • You will pass the actual practice of teaching and get the most valuable - this is the experience of teaching to other people, without which you are a teacher only on paper. Without relevant experience it is difficult to get anywhere to teach. This is the hardest part in the organization of student learning and the most responsible. The organization of a real practice for a full-time student is worth the tremendous efforts of all the curators and teachers of yoga who will lead you. In full, this opportunity can take advantage of full-time students.

  • This is the most optimal form of training in financial costs in terms of one hour of practical and theoretical yoga.

In addition, you will find a very deep immersion in the mysterious world of yoga. Communication with like-minded people on the way. Opening and cultivating in yourself a huge number of very valuable inner qualities and abilities of your personality, such as: self-discipline, hard self-control, consistency, common sense in everything, ability to bring everything to the end, meaningfulness of every step of your life, sense of camaraderie and mutual assistance, honesty with yourself, inflexible will. You will have a unique opportunity to actively change life for the better with the help of real dissemination of the Higher knowledge of yoga. You will receive one of the most difficult, exhausting and not always grateful, but at the same time one of the most exciting, creative and inspiring professions, namely the profession of a yoga teacher. You can more often be in the "cloud of yoga school", in the mental atmosphere of like-minded people.

The disadvantages of this form of education:

Cons, as always happens, flow from the pros.

  • You will not have time for other schools, directions and philosophies.

  • All the time you have to spend on immersion in our school of yoga.

  • You will need to be able to find a common language with all people, even if you do not like them.

  • You will find a serious and often very unpleasant work with yourself, your character and habits.

  • You will have to pass serious, not formal exams twice a year.

  • It will be necessary to come to terms with the fact that in your life you will have to think first about others, and only then about yourself.

  • The work of a true yoga teacher is sometimes very ungrateful, and evil, self-satisfied languages may not appreciate your unselfish impulses at all.

  • Sometimes you will be exhausted, especially when the actual practice of teaching begins.

How is the process of learning from full-time students?

Since many of our students are still working or studying, we try to conduct all of our compulsory classes in the evening after work, on weekends.

  2. Attend general classes and seminars, retreats, lectures for all comers, which, as a rule, are paid.

  3. Attend special training sessions and seminars, retreats, lectures for full-time students of your group.

  4. Also, you will reveal your inner creative potential and do what you can do to promote yoga through the activity that is closest to you in spirit and character. You will report on your studies and work done, engage in curatorial activities, and practice in teaching in Russian and English. Participate in yoga festivals and congresses. After successfully passing the exams at the end of the 2nd cycle, you will receive the right to teach yoga from our school as a Master Teacher.

B. Correspondence Students.

Group - Absentee Students of Yoga teacher training, in countries / regions where there are no our teachers.

Absentee Students can be divided into two groups. First: students from foreign countries. Students from such countries as Italy, Switzerland, Finland, Japan, Cyprus study here. The other group is from the countries of the former USSR.

Correspondence Students are, in a sense, our priority students. We believe that in the future the role of the preservation and dissemination of yoga will mainly fall on the shoulders of correspondence students. Only when yoga moves out of megacities, closer to ordinary people, only then can one expect that yoga will not disappear. Cities such as Moscow, London, and New York do not solve the problem of preserving yoga; they are convenient as learning centers, but not as a place to store the mysterious knowledge of yoga and to conduct powerful practices. This requires more inconspicuous places and people less driven by the “rat race of consumption,” people who have not lost their closeness to nature.

Since a significant part of the people who create and support the International Open Yoga University and the Internet Yoga Training courses for yoga teachers, come from remote and sometimes downright deaf places of the former USSR, we perfectly understand all the difficulties that may stand in the way of Absentee A student in his studies at a yoga teacher. This and psychological difficulties. After all, one must have a certain courage to go somewhere and study somewhere. This and inertia of local life, where yoga can be treated as some kind of unnecessary whim. This and financial difficulties. Outside major cities, the financial standard of living is often significantly lower than in the capitals. And much more. Therefore, as far as possible, we strive to expand the direction of teaching Absentee Students.

In essence, the question, everything that was said about full-time education, is fully true for the correspondence form. Correspondence Students are students who cannot be Full-time Students because of their remote place of residence and the inability to regularly attend both general and special classes. Therefore, correspondence students can only be people living in other cities. In order to become an Absentee Student, you need to take the same steps that were described for Full-time Students. The difference is that you should go through an additional interview with our supervisors and set a personal study schedule for yourself, get acquainted with the requirements that we make when applying to us, and pass a special interview. You must have an Internet connection in order to remotely attend classes and lectures held at the University. You will need to participate remotely in disputes over the Internet.

You should be able to come to Moscow or European centers at least twice a year for qualifying exams. For in-depth seminars, classes and consultations. Only in rare exceptions do we allow absentee students to come once a year. We go on this extremely reluctant, only if we are sure that the student is not a random person in yoga, and he has good reasons for this.

Your financial expenses for training as an absentee student:

The system is also very flexible. You will attend a large number of online training activities on yoga. Usually 12 special classes, 4 special pieces per month and other events. Take special online yoga courses for teachers, work with personal trainers. Participate in retreats and retreats. If you have additional funds, time, and you can come to face-to-face classes at the center nearest you, then you can attend all extra classes and activities, such as classes in rare yoga classes, learning English for yoga and others.

Here is an approximate, approximate calculation of your costs. Prices for 201___.

0. One-time entry fee of 1500 rubles.

1. Monthly payment: 3500 rubles to cover expenses.

2. You will come and pass 2 qualifying exams per year at regular and field seminars. Each costs from 2000 rubles. Total in terms of month 334 rub. = 2000 rubles x 2 times / 12 months.

3. You will attend a three-day visiting seminar 2 times a year, which will be attended by at least 1.5 days. Since the seminar costs from 8800 rubles, you will be only 1.5 days, then it will cost you 4660 rubles. Total in terms of month 690 rubles. = (8800 rubles-4140) x 2 times / 12 months. (Price for 2015 for three days of the seminar with food and accommodation.) Plus the cost of travel from home to Moscow or the European Center.

4. You will attend special extra days for part-time students during field seminars where you will get those special practical exercises that are necessary to pass the practice of teaching. In terms of this 1425 rubles / month.

5. In addition, you will at least 2 times a year undergo compulsory teaching practice through the conduct of classes, and will also assist in conducting examinations and retreats. For you it will be free.

6. Training in special subjects at additional special classes and from your personal tutors. 0 rub / month

Total on average per month: 3500 rubles. + 334 + 690 rubles. ((8800 rubles-4140) x 2/12 months.) +1425 = 5950 rubles. per month.

Thus, if you live far from large centers, but you have the Internet and can visit us physically for a certain period of time, then this form of education will probably suit you best.

Friends, attention, be sure to say that you came with a recommendation, then you can get sponsorship that will cover part of your payment. That is, if you are planning to become an absentee student and come to us to study on the recommendation of our graduates or already students of students, be sure to indicate this everywhere and remind it during an interview. Also, if in the past years you did not pass through the competition, but were enrolled this year, then you can also qualify for sponsorship.

The advantages of this form of education:

The benefits are about the same as for full-time students. But there is an undoubted advantage of this form of education. Namely, the fact that in the future you will have the opportunity to teach yoga where people have the greatest need for it, that is, at home. Indeed, such megacities like Moscow and world capitals are in fact a state within a state. The psychic atmosphere and the rhythm of life in them sometimes make people forget that he is a person, and not a machine for consuming goods and earning money. Their mental gaze is directed to the West, somewhere in Europe, often they despise their country. It seems to them that happiness is somewhere overseas, and they do not understand that happiness is inside a person, no matter where he lives. Such people do not get through neither yoga nor anything else in the world, they are deaf to their inner world. Fortunately, beyond the boundaries of megacities, people are more complete and not corrupted by the Consumption Society and Happy Life on Credit at the expense of others. People in the regions are more grateful and loyal.

The disadvantages of this form of education:

The disadvantages are the same as for full-time education. And, as a rule, lack of personal communication with like-minded people. But the main disadvantage of this form of education is that it will be extremely difficult for us to provide you with the practice of teaching yoga to others at the later stages of your training, so that you gain invaluable experience in teaching yoga under our tight control and avoid teaching mistakes. As our experience shows, giving our senior students the opportunity to go through the practice of teaching yoga to other people is the most organizationally difficult and financially costly part of your training for us. This is the "eternal headache" of our curators. Indeed, in order to teach others, you need to have experience in teaching, and you will only gain experience in teaching if you teach others. The circle closes. Who wants to hire a yoga teacher without teaching practice? The answer is: no one. People will not go to your classes if you demonstrate inexperience or fatal flaws. Experience is absolutely necessary. But we are constantly looking for a way out and find it. In this regard, full-time students are in a more privileged position. Their direct and indirect training costs are much higher, but the opportunity to develop the practice is wider and simpler.

How is the process of learning from absentee students?

This form of training assumes that you will:

  1. You will come twice a year to pass qualifying exams.

  2. Consistently take Remote Internet Yoga Courses, take exams at the end of each cycle. It is completely free, as well as for free listeners.

  3. From time to time be remotely present via the Internet connection at lectures, special classes, thematic classes. This usually occurs twice a week.

  4. Periodically come and take special training sessions, seminars, retreats, lectures for correspondence students of your group.

  5. Periodically come and attend general classes and seminars, retreats for all comers, who, as a rule, are paid, as soon as possible. Plus your expenses for travel and accommodation.

  6. In addition, compulsory attendance of general seminars, workshops and lectures online at any convenient time, which coincides with the broadcast time.

  7. Also, you will reveal your inner creative potential and do what you can do to promote yoga through the activity that is closest to you in spirit and character. You will report on your studies and work done, engage in curatorial activities, and practice in teaching in Russian and English. Participate in yoga festivals and congresses. You will undergo the practice of teaching in our centers. After successfully passing the exams at the end of the 2nd cycle, you will receive a certificate for the right to teach yoga from our school.

When learning occurs:

All classes that are conducted through Internet conferences, webinars, we try to hold in the evening after work. If only this allows the time difference between time zones. Also on weekends and holidays. We recommend to come to Moscow for exams and for intensive passing of special classes during vacations.

To get an interview, learn as much as possible about our school of yoga via the Internet and at any opportunity start to attend our common yoga classes, yoga seminars, lectures. Schedule and addresses can be found here: www.openyoga.ru. Also study the archives of our school of yoga on the site www.openyoga.ru.

This form of education is paid. Training lasts 208 weeks, after which there is an opportunity to continue studying at the Master in Open Yoga University.

Training takes place with the use of English-language courses to continue to teach yoga in English. We strongly recommend that Full-time Students learn to teach in English. This increases the study load on the student, and at the same time expands the student’s personal freedom in the future, as it allows teaching yoga in English-speaking countries. The number of our students teaching in English-speaking countries is steadily growing, and probably in the future we will even more persistently recommend our students to acquire the ability to teach in English.
